The Program
The Graduate Program involves full time employment with a learning period of approximately 2 years, during which time you will be exposed to different aspects of accounting and financial services.
Our Intention is to develop graduates through a learning pathway designed to help you understand our business and what is expected of you as an accountant in public accounting
The type of work you will be exposed to in your two years includes assisting with various compliance (Tax, BAS, PAYG), auditing of large and small enterprises, cash flows, taxation and GST compliance, financial planning and superannuation.

Training, Support and Development
Development at McConachie Stedman is all about providing opportunity to assist you realise your potential. Development is also about responsibilities, challenges, opportunities, asking questions and learning from practical experiences.
You will be assisted by team members while employed under the Graduate Program. Your development will include a combination of on-the-job experience, mentoring, in-house professional development and external training programs, we well as regular feedback.
At the completion of your degree and within an appropriate timeframe, it is expected that you will commence your preferred professional body membership (e.g. CPA or CA) qualification.
McConachie Stedman offers you the choice with either professional body. Financial support, study/exam leave and mentoring is provided to all junior accountants.
Remuneration and Benefits
Salary will be negotiable with successful candidates. Benefits include paid leave for future CPA or CA program modules, as well as salary packaging options.
Who Can Apply
To commence on the program, you will need to have completed your business or commerce degree, with a major in accounting or be in your final year and seeking full time employment at the conclusion of your studies.
The Selection Process
Applications are open all year, pending the current number of Trainee and Graduate Accountants employed with the firm.
To lodge an application you will need to:
Provide a cover letter with your application
Provide a current Resume (On-line applications are accepted)
Provide a copy of your University academic transcript at the time of application
Have an active email account for correspondence during the selection process
Interviews will be conducted with short listed candidates.
Referee checks will be undertaken prior to a final decision being made.
Psychological testing may be used as part of the selection process.
Offers of employment are expected to be made within six to eight weeks of your application. Commencement dates and salaries will be negotiated with successful applicants.
