Monthly Training Programs

Professional development training is delivered in our boardroom every month for our accountants and accounting support staff. We have three tiers of training for the managers, intermediate accountants, and junior level training.

Our training program is designed to meet the needs of the practice with selected topics targeted on particular months. It is also designed to unsure continuous learning in key areas relevant to each accountants career development. Both internal and external presenters are sourced for our sessions.

Learning Pathways

Our junior and intermediate accountants have development pathways which are on-going and monitored through team coaching, on-the-job training and as part of the annual review cycle. Every 6 months we discuss your progress and set development goals or targets. We also discuss your long term learning potential and with that, your career pathway. Please visit Our Services pages of the web site to better understand career pathway options (our service Divisions), and the breadth of opportunities available for business services within Accounting and Taxation.

Employees are given every opportunity to develop and progress in line with their level of competency. So long as staff performance is in line with goals set periodically, individuals will not be restricted by timeframes.

Professional Studies

McConachie Stedman encourages our graduates to undertake their professional studies are early as possible, usually within 12 months of graduating. The practice has Partners and staff that are both CPA and Chartered Accountants, so you have the choice. Financial support and study / exam leave is provided as part of your employment package.

From August 2008, we will also be providing support for our CPA students with after hours study groups. The study groups are possible by aligning the CPA segment enrolments of our graduates, therefore giving them the opportunity to support each other. Partners or senior staff will assist as a mentor for selected segments.
